How to do a snapshot/checkpoint for a limited set of resources - i.e. only for a single volume

O know, this is weird, but let em explain!

A developer has a Server with 2 volumes, C: and D:

Windows at C: and an application server at D:

Developers are doing a special trya-and-error upgrade on lab and they´re asking to do a snapshot only for D: volume, not for C:, i can throw away c: drive and re-install windows from scratch, but preserving the D: volume, becuase over time they change things,
sum up things

So, the idea is to do a snaphost/checkpoint, but limited to drie c:, goping back in time ONLY for Drive C:, but preserving the D: Drive

It´s possible? If so how?
