a virtual machine resource was not found in clustered virtual machine

Hi guys, I’,m doing a cluster to cluster replication, and created a DR and PR replication broker. I’m doing an initial replication, but i get the error "a virtual machine resource was not found in clustered virtual machine"

Might this be due to different VSwitch Names for both PR and DR? I cant figure out what’s causing this

Hyper-V 2016 Replication

Hi guys,

I have successfully created a Hyper-v cluster with 2 host, 12 VM roles, each with it’s CSV on share HPE MSA 2052 storage.

I am to create a DR cluster with similar hardware, and not sure how to about the DR setup. Haven’t been able to find any step by step guide on how to do this.

Should I create similar CSV, then use a hyper-v broker to point to them as destinations for each VMs?

Hyper-V VM volume/LUN isolation or single volume/LUN

Hi guys, I’m doing a new hyper-v setup, and have an external HPE MSA 2052 SAN storage. When provisioning storage for the VMs,  which is the recommended way to host my VMs (VHDs and Config files), in a single large LUN/volume, or create separate LUNs/volumes
for each VM?

Is  there any disadvantages of either options?

New Hyper-V cluster setup

Hi guys,

I am to setup a new IT infrastructure, running on two Hyper-V hosts and a shared storage. I want to cluster my servers, then setup and AD before any new VMs. How do I go about this, considering I need to join the servers to the domain for it to validate
before i can create any VM in this cluster? Do i create an AD before i create the cluster?

Virtualization Setup

Hi Guys,

1. Does the unlimited virtualization in Windows Server 2016/2019 datacenter mean that the guest machines (VMs) don’t have to be licensed, and will automatically be licensed upon creation? And what previous OS versions are allowed when for example you have
a 2016 DC license, and your guests run 2008 or 2012?

2. After licensing my servers which i want to cluster, do i still need CAL licenses, and how should these be applied if I’ll need them?

3.What replciation should i use, hyper-v or storage replica  to replicate the volumes on my storage, which will be a HPE MSA hosting the VMs

4. Is automatic fail-over possible for my new setup, where my clusters will be 500miles apart, and what are the minimum requirements to achieve such?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
